I discovered that a spool perfectly fit my Samsung monitor stand, and I designed a simple speaker to fit into the spool. This speaker doesn't sound amazing but it is certainly better than my laptop! It also means the sound comes from the front of me instead of the side. I used a PAM8403 Amplifier, powered by USB, with a dupont connector for power (but you can just buy a microUSB breakout board. I also soldered an AUX jack for audio in and used 2 5W 8R 7040 Speakers (15.4mm thick) Every spool is different so I would recommend printing a copy of the cover to check diameters. I printed 3 covers, used one to seal off the top of the chamber and the final two were used to hold some speaker cloth over the front to improve the aesthetics.
