His innovative design initially required purchasing an 8mm diameter dowel, but he has now created a printable 10cm rod with the same diameter. This addition also includes a half-dowel option for those who experience difficulties printing the entire dowel as one piece. To print successfully, users can rotate the half-dowel to rest on its flat face and then print two halves. However, it's worth noting that printing in halves may not allow the clamps to roll as smoothly.
