Spool Roller (Recirculating 6mm BBs)

Spool Spinner Using 6mm Airsoft BBs I required a more adaptable solution while retaining the concept of mostly printed rolling components. I used the cheapest 6mm airsoft BBs available on Amazon, and no additional hardware was necessary. The BBs circulate within the body, and the roller race features increased upper clearance to eliminate overhanging obstructions. No supports are needed, but finely tuned coasting, wiping, and retraction settings are required to minimize blob formation. I lightly heated my prints with a heat gun to remove any stringing. The 6mm BBs can be inserted through the snap-clearance opening on one end without forcing the last BB, which would cause the assembly to bind. Two versions are available: 4 and 5mm, designed to accommodate different spool side widths (not overall spool width but rather the portion inserted into the spool roller).
