A simple redesign of ianlee74's roller is underway. Modified dimensions have been applied to fit my spools perfectly, and bearing edge stops have been added on the inside, allowing bearings to be pressed in while remaining flush with the outside surface. This redesigned roller will be placed inside the filament spool, combined with a spool holder that utilizes an 8mm rod. My "Spool Skeleton Mount for Delta Kossel" has been adapted, featuring an 8mm threaded rod and 2 x M8 wing nuts from thingiverse.com/thing:1740925. Dimensions have been set at 31 x 31 x 105mm. Two 608zz bearings are utilized, one on each end, to provide a stable base. Printing is possible without supports, saving time and resources. Print settings for the redesigned roller include: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Kossel Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.4 Infill: 20% Design notes are as follows: Designed with no clearance to the bearings (22mm), users can scale it up slightly on their slicer program for a bit of extra clearance if needed. I printed one of these rollers in PLA without scaling, and it was a very tight fit when pressing the bearings in.
