Spool ring For M8 Rod
thingiverse
I discovered that mounting bearings allowed the filament to unwind itself and become entangled, so I directly attached it to an M8 Rod in my design. The M8 rod rotates freely within some lasercut holes in this setup. To assemble the Filament Reel, you'll need to print two of these parts and secure them onto either side using nuts. If you apply two nuts at each end or use locknuts, the reel should have enough clearance to rotate on its plastic mount without turning the rod. This design works well for a variety of filaments: Excelvan, FormFutura, Filaprint, and likely others.
