Spool Holder with PC4-M10 PTFE Adapter
prusaprinters

I love the space saving interlocking design and the ability to attach it to a shelf. After using it I decided to modify it for better integration with my current setup.

Changes from the original for my setup, maybe others will find them handy too:

I added a PC4-M10 PTFE tube adapter to both sides (because I'd mount it wrong at least once).

On my shelf it echoed/clunked a little and I needed additional lift for the PTFE adapter. I created a TPU pad to cushion it. Super quiet now.

I never have luck with squared rollers. Something always happens and the spool gets off track. I changed from the square edges to a scalloped edge. This keeps the spool on matter which direction or how far it decides to wander.

Removed the need for supports by splitting the rollers in half so they can be printed flat.

Changed the diameter of the roller by 1mm for additional space to run the PTFE tube.

Printing instructions for the roller:

PLA

.2 mm layer height

3 Perimeters(shells)

Infill: 10%

Infill Type: Grid.

Supports: No

Assembly:

Put the two flat halves together and use two 608zz bearing to hold it together.

Some for is required, but you should be able to do this by hand.

This mounts in the two groves on the Spool Holder Base

You will need four halves (two sets) of rollers per Spool Holder Base

You will need four 608zz bearings (same size provided with the Prusa MMU2s holders).

Printing instructions for the TPU base (you could also print in PLA or material of preference):

TPU

.2 mm layer height

Infill: 15%

Infill Type: Grid.

Supports: No

Assembly:

This mounts under the Spool Holder Base.

Printing instructions for the Spool Holder Base:

PLA

.2 mm layer height

Infill: 15%

Infill Type: Grid.

Supports: Yes, painted enforced at both of the PTFE connector openings. They are easy to remove with a simple twist. (If you select everywhere in PrusaSlicer it should hit the correct areas as well).

Assembly:

This is mounted on top of the TPU pad prior to attaching to the shelving with wood screws.

PC4-M10 adapter screws into either end. Finger tight, don't overtighten.
