Spool holder with bearing
thingiverse
I mounted a sturdy 32mm PVC tube to carry multiple spools on my trusty Gaia3D (Pangea) printer at once, making it easier to manage several reels simultaneously. Unfortunately, the bobbin slippage is less than ideal, causing unwanted tension on the filament. To solve this issue, I designed a clever support that clips onto the PVC tube, allowing for smoother spool rotation thanks to eight 16mm 688zz bearings (with an 8mm hole and 5mm thickness). I attached two of these supports to my printer, enabling me to securely place the spool in use without producing too much friction. Two sturdy plates hold the spool firmly on the support, minimizing any unwanted movement.
