Spool holder with 608 bearings for Neptune 4
thingiverse
After creating the simple spool with sleeve for my Neptune 4 I always wanted to have one with bearings.I like HugoHuge's design, but it is too long and bulky, so not possible to use with 250g reels I have. Also, the design has to be printed horizontally with supports, so thread and surfaces are not clean enough for my CDO.As a result, I decided to create my own design that can be printed vertically without supports.Short version holds reels up to 64mm width.Long version holds reels up to 76mm width. You will need two 608 bearings (outer diameter -- 22mm, inner diameter -- 8mm, width -- 7mm).Calibrate your printer (dimentions should be accurate as printed parts have to accomodate the ball bearings) and print 2 adaptors, 1 spool and 1 bracket.Attach adaptors to bearings, insers bearings into spool and then insert the spool with bearings into bracket (you need to insert it in side with thread first). How to assemble:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0DX5azY1AM21 Feb 2024: Added spacers for 90CW, 90CCW and 180. You will need the 180 one if you'd like to attach the spool holder on the right.P.S. I borrowed some ideas from grizzie17's design
