Spool Holder w/ Printed Bearings and Filament Clip

Spool Holder w/ Printed Bearings and Filament Clip

thingiverse

Reduce filament tension with this helpful modification. Utilize tweaked printed bearings from Emmet's Thingiverse design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:53451), which boast a smooth inner bore and 50mm outer diameter, perfectly matching Type A Machine filament spools. Print two bearing files and one SpoolHolder3.stl. Fit bearings onto a 5/16" wooden dowel, then place the dowel within the spool holder with space between the bearing and holder. For optimal friction reduction, add adhesive foam or similar material to the inner bearing's edge, preventing contact with the spool holder. This project was successfully executed on a TAM Series 1 Printer without support. If bearings prove problematic, adjust inset surface in your slicer for proper fitting.
