The design isn't complete since printing hasn't finished yet. To prepare it for the plate, turn 90 degrees so the left side faces down when you're done with the print. A layer thickness of 0.3 or 0.4 mm will work just fine for this project. I used four layers of shell and bottom as well as top, combined with a 20 percent hexagon infill mesh to give it extra stability. Since my printer handles PET better than old PLA which can become brittle easily, I chose to print in PET. This holder allows you to snap it onto the top rail to keep your filament spool secure. While there are holes for screws, they're not usually necessary. The filament spools can be up to 200 mm in diameter and 80 mm high.
