Spool Holder (scaleable on a track)
prusaprinters

Hey guys, this is a spool holder meant to be installed in its track. Its designed so that the weight keeps the arm in the track, and you have to lift up and tilt nose up to pull it out. The printable track is 202mm (8"ish) across, and each spool holder is 101. The track has two countersunk holes to attach it to a backboard. You can keep adding track and spool holders to line the wall behind your printer. It's meant for your standard about 203mm (8") Dia. spool. The front handle is to be able to pick up the spool by lifting it, and is 80mm square so you can attach a post-it to the face to document any information you might need about the spool. (filament type, amount consumed, etc...) print as many as you need!

Print instructions

Print the track long and skinny, on an edge. I'd use a brim just in case.

Print the spindle small side down, no support needed.

print the arm back side down. I'd use support off the build plate just to tighten up the nut traps.

print the handle main face down. support off the build plate just to help the plug.

When you assemble it, it takes 2 4m X 15mm cup head screws. and 2 4m nuts. The hole for the spindle is a hair bigger than the spindle so it goes in nice, but the handle fits tight. I used an "up-down motivational tool" to seat it.
