Spool Holder Inserts
prusaprinters

These parts (qty. 4) insert into the handles released for the Voron v2.2. These handles (linked below) can be added to any similar enclosed printer with a 3mm or 6mm thick top panel. The inserts hold 8mm rods to support filament spools. The rollers can slide on the rods to support a wide range of spool widths. This assembly can also be used as a spool rack. If you like this, could you please download/like.

The part with a through hole are for rods that are longer than necessary. If you can cut the rod to the correct length, the part without the through hole could be used to avoid retaining hardware (locking collars).

If you have a direct drive extruder you could drill a hole to feed filament straight down through the top panel. A 1/8 inch drill bit works well, and I recommend chamfering both sides of the hole with a larger drill bit by hand so that there are no sharp edges. The ideal location of this hole is on center left/right and then 172mm back from the front edge of the top panel for the 300mm Voron. If you have a different size Voron, find the center of the build plate and figure out a way to project that point up to the top panel.

There is a 3mm and 6mm version of the handle. Pick the one that matches closest to the thickness of your top panel. The 6mm can be filed down to fit, if your panel thickness falls between 3mm and 6mm.

Link for handles:

https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-2/tree/V2.2/STLs/VORON2.2/Panel_Mounting/Handles_Panel_Rests_Misc

Link for rollers. I used the rail_v3 but v2 should also work. It uses four 608 skateboard bearings if you put one on each contact point of the spool. I only use two in the front so it can unspool easy but also keep tightness on the spool, so it doesn't unspool farther then it needs.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3353204/files
