Freestanding Spool Holder for MP Select Mini (or any other printer really) My MP Select Mini kept breaking filament because the stock spool holder unrolled perpendicular to the feeder. This excessive bend was too much for my fragile filament. I made a freestanding spool holder instead, and it's been a game-changer. Since the MP Select Mini has a very small print area, this spool holder relies on extra hardware for its structural members. The only 3D printed parts are the corner connectors. Hardware Needed: 9 bicycle rear quick-release skewers - easy to find in bike shop scrap bins, with heads removed (5mm threaded rods approx 150mm long) 4 5x0.8mm metric nuts Epoxy Print out the model twice for a total of 6 connectors. Then, plug them together like Tinkertoys to make two triangle frames and secure with Epoxy. Use nuts instead of epoxy on the two base transverse beams, and leave one side free so they can be adjusted for different spool widths (see photo).
