Spool holder for Prusa I3 Rework 1.5
thingiverse
Rewritten from scratch in OpenSCAD for Prusa I3 Rework 1.5, this spool is sold by eMotionTech, featuring a spool hole diameter of 52 mm. If your spool has a different hole diameter, simply adjust the Bobine_trou_d variable on line 28 in interne.scad - most identifiers are in French. The given STL files differ slightly from their SCAD sources; I corrected minor discrepancies before publishing, including subtracting 0.5 mm from the spool hole's diameter for a snugger fit and moving part bottoms to z=0 for easier assembly. A housing for an M3.5 x 16 wood screw was initially designed for rigidity but proved unnecessary after printing - it remains in case future modifications require added support. When designing, I included a module to generate the left side of the spool holder (Support_Bobine_Gauche.scad), which corresponds to Support_Bobine_Gauche.stl. The right side is generated using Support_Bobine_Droit.scad, corresponding to Support_Bobine_Droit.stl. Conception.scad displays a useful view for designing the whole spool holder in OpenSCAD (I write SCAD files using Lazarus source file editor). Interne.scad contains the main code, while vis_M3_5_x_16.scad integrates M3.5 x 16 wood screws into designs. Lastly, M_global.scad serves as a general library with shortcuts for translations, rotations, and tolerance constants to facilitate fittings between printed pieces.
