This innovative spool holder snaps onto the back of the printer and secures a roll in place, allowing for seamless swapping. If you replicate this design and test it on your printer, please share your results so I can gauge compatibility with different machines, as metal fabrication may not always yield uniform results. The compact version is currently preferred due to its ability to pass through small holes found in Taulman reels at the suggestion of user kcriqui; this design should work seamlessly with various spool types. However, if you encounter a spool that doesn't fit, please specify the issue so I can assess the problem. The wider version accommodates larger spools up to 95 mm wide, while the original accommodates smaller ones up to 75 mm wide, though I strongly recommend opting for the small hole design since it is most universally compatible. Important warning: this spool holder may snap onto the printer with such force that it can be extremely challenging to remove. A tab has been added as a leverage aid when removing, but if the holder becomes snugly fixed on your machine, be prepared for some difficulty!
