Spool Holder For Printrbot Metal Plus

This spool holder attaches directly to the top of a Printrbot Metal Plus. It consists of two plates that hold the bearings in place and four coverings designed to prevent aluminium tubes from slipping out of their designated holders. The design was created using DesignSpark Mechanical 2.0. Construction files are provided for further modification purposes. In addition to printed parts, the following items are also required: Four bearings measuring 8mm inner diameter by 22mm outer diameter by 7mm in width - 608 ZZ branded options were utilised here. Two aluminium tubes with an outer diameter of 8mm and an inner diameter of 6mm each. Each tube needs to be cut to a length equivalent to the spool's width plus twice its bearing's width (2x 7mm). Instructions are as follows: Print two plates and four coverings. Cut your aluminium tubes into needed lengths. Press bearings into plates using a bench vise or similar tool for holding pressure. Insert both tubes through plates. Gently tap coverings into the tubes using minimal force to prevent damage.
