A set of these measures 26 cm in length and is designed to accommodate a 8mm smooth or threaded rod as an axle for a Mendel-type 3D printer. With a total length of approximately 195 mm, it functions optimally with PLA filament. For enhanced stability, the spool should be positioned between the two supports, which ideally tilt inward towards each other. Interestingly, it was found that the weight of the spool alone is enough to securely hold the supports in place without needing additional clamps on the upper rods of the Mendel frame.
