Spool Holder for Geeetech Pro W
thingiverse
Tired of using the flimsy spool holder that came with my Geeetech Pro W (wooden version), I decided to create a sturdy bracket that fits perfectly onto the top of the A Frame on either side of the screen. By sheer luck, it slides in seamlessly against the screen and still allows for easy SD card insertion and removal. This design also feeds filament from the top, minimizing the amount of pushing and pulling and reducing the likelihood of tangles (TPU constantly falling off the spool and wrapping itself around the holder). The bracket is designed to be screwless and easily removable. To print, use a 2 perimeter setting, 20% infill, 2 solid top and bottom layers. Print two of each item (rotate the stand and holder 45 degrees to fit on the bed) and secure them with either double-sided tape or super glue to prevent wobble. I repurposed the white pipe from the original holder but designed two stoppers to replace the annoying corner pipes that Geeetech sent. I considered designing a new pipe, but it would have needed to be printed very thick, so I opted to reuse instead. There is also a small filament guide that clips onto the top of the A frame and will be held in place by the holder.
