spool holder for Geeetech A30
thingiverse
Tired of that hideous perch of the Geeetech that among other things forces the Bowden to tow all the weight of the spool (not counting the increase in unit size), I decided to do something more comfortable and functional in the simplest way possible. The spool holder is equipped with four ball bearings, model 6202. These bearings were chosen for their exceptional durability and very low friction between parts. Both parts are fixed and locked into place. However, if desired, they can be secured even better using M3 screws where I have designed the holes. I personally print at 0.1 resolution but you can freely choose your preferred resolution. Add On: With some spools, I noticed that one of the two reel holders tends to shift. To ensure smooth printing without supports, I created a simple support that can be pasted in place. You can decide whether to print one or both supports, which should stabilize the reel holder completely.
