The quick and easy spool holder is a fantastic addition to any IKEA shelf bracket EKBY BJARNUM setup. The clever design features two parts that attach perfectly together using sturdy 3/4'' long drywall screws with fine thread, making it compatible for printing on Prinbot Simple devices. For extra security, the bracket boasts two additional holes for screwing it firmly onto the shelf. When holding heavy spools, this attachment mechanism takes hold so snugly against the shelf bracket that those screws often become redundant. I discovered that my custom-made holder worked flawlessly when I printed mine with PLA filament on a Printerbot Simple 3D printer. Printing the bracket segment called for supports to prevent it from detaching. Using optimal print settings, such as 0.2mm layer height and 20% infill, along with five layers for both perimeter and top and bottom configurations, yields precise results that enhance functionality of spool storage.
