Spool Holder

Spool Holder

thingiverse

This DIY spool holder features a simple block design with one hole and one indent, constructed using 3 m8 (or smooth) rods and 4 blocks. It sits on top of your Prusa printer with two blocks acting as supports, while the remaining two clocks hold the spool in place. The spool turns around one of the bars. In this version, two ~28cm m8 rods and one ~18cm smooth rod were used, along with a minimum of 4 nuts. An updated design for smaller spools is also available, requiring only one piece of rod and no tools. To build, print four blocks and place nuts on each rod before attaching the blocks. Then, insert the rods between your printer's upper bars and lay the spool through the indent on the holder. No more undoing bolts when changing filament!
