Spool Holder
thingiverse
SPU Engineering has developed an adapter designed to securely hold spools in place while allowing users to feed material through a small guide located at the front. This versatile tool can be used to manage various objects such as thread spools, solder, wire, and more. The CAD file was created using Solidworks, and the part displayed was printed utilizing PrinterBot's Simple Metal printer. Please note that the part shown in the slideshow is not fully printed due to accidental movement from its original position on the printer bed. However, it effectively conveys the overall functionality of this adapter. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer Model: Simple Black Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm Notes: To utilize this adapter, simply feed the bar through the hole on your spool and slide it through both slots on either side of the hand attachment as illustrated in the accompanying pictures. This allows users to prevent material tangling by feeding it through the small front hole. For version 2.0, I plan to modify the entire part for a smaller design while adding additional slots/bars to accommodate different spool sizes.
