Spool Holder
thingiverse
I was having a tough time finding a spool holder that would connect to my printer without a hassle and keep the footprint small, so I came up with this solution. It attaches securely with one screw and T-nut and can hold a Hatchbox roll or smaller sizes comfortably. UPDATE!! Version 2.2 I enlarged the screw mounting hole and added a larger tab to the end of the spool rod, allowing it to hold a roll of filament even when mounted vertically if desired. UPDATE!! Version 2.3 I rearranged my printer's configuration and needed a way to mount this holder on top of my printer, so I modified it to have a bigger end that can now hold a spool in any orientation. I also made the spool rod round to minimize drag when mounted in different configurations. Print Settings Printer: Tevo Tarantula Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 20% Notes: I printed mine at 0.3mm resolution and 20% infill, and it seems rigid enough. The higher the resolution and infill percentage, the stronger the spool holder will be.
