The Universal Filament Spool Holder features a hole diameter of 31 - 58 mm, eliminating the need to twist off nuts from the screw rod due to its specially designed construction. In light of the limited space available for the printer, placing the spool above the printer was the only feasible option. The base of this holder is made from MDF pieces, although it can also be fabricated from plywood or any other suitable material. Precision holes in the base were carefully cut using a router, tailored to the dimensions of readily available bearings. The design of the Universal Filament Spool Holder is centered around an M8 screw rod and accompanying M8 nuts. However, there was an issue encountered with M8 nuts from different suppliers, which had external dimensions that slightly differed from one another. To resolve this problem, a custom file titled "Wire holder spacer" was created to address the discrepancy. This spool holder now allows for quick and easy changes, securing the filament firmly in place without consuming valuable space around the printer. Furthermore, bearings within the device provide smooth rotation of the spool, adding an extra layer of convenience and practicality.
