Spool Holder

Spool Holder

I've uploaded the original version which does not include the name or filament guide. The back of the base plate is 2mm thinner, but it still supports a 1kg filament roll after testing. I designed this spool holder and filament guide in Fusion 360, keeping them separate for those who prefer not to integrate the guide. Both .stl's have been uploaded. I printed both pieces in PLA, but you may find better strength with a stronger filament. I used Simplify3d as my slicer. To print upright like the photo shows, adjust the model in your slicer and remember to reset it to centre. The filament guide needs to be rotated 210 degrees on the x-axis, while the holder requires -90 degrees rotation on the y-axis. For best printing results, turn supports on. Print the filament guide at 100% infill, which should take approximately 40 minutes (it did on my Tornado). I printed the holder with 20% infill and it had good strength for PLA, but turning support on is necessary for the best result. The holder took around 10.5 hours to print. This holder is designed to fit a maximum filament reel size of 200mm*105mm with an internal diameter of 55mm. Let me know if you have any feedback. @NR3DPrint Nick Reid
