Spool for Greenworks replacement Weed trimmer cable
thingiverse
The replacement cable for Greenworks Trimmer only comes in a bulk roll. On the Amazon page, there were several comments on how difficult it was to rap the cable onto the cable spool used in the trimmer. While some suggested this could be solved by NOT removing the zip ties and unraveling 10 feet at a time. I tried to do this and while it worked, it was not as easy as it seems to get the 10 feet you need and I was worried about keeping the bundle together as the amount of string decreased and you either tighten the zip ties or fail to tighten them soon enough. My solution: Create a spool that would allow the user to pull out as much cable as they need while maintaining tension on the spool. Tension is maintained by having the cable feed through a small hole in the rim of the outer Spool Half. The two halves are meant to screw together while the cable bundle is still zip-tied together. Insert the outer half axle through the hole in the middle of the bundle and then screw the inner half into the center of the outer half. Once assembled thread the end of the cable through the hole provided on the rim of the outer half and then you may cut the 4 zip ties.
