spool building - warhammer 40k / star wars sci-fi terrain
thingiverse
Inspired by the Prusament spool, which looks perfect as walkway or roof for a tabletop game, i designed a round building that could use an upcycled Prusament spool as roof. I wanted to make a sci-fi building that would both fit a Star Wars setting as a Warhammer 40k setting. I designed the model as a long wall and used Blender to bend the wall into a round building. The version here is the 5th and final version. This version prints everything very well and without supports. For the hole in the spool i made several domes. An alternative for using a dome is Prusament connect by imakina. To complete my terrain set i also made a bigger building using the same design. I cut the basic building in half, added 2 walls and printed it larger to get a Star Wars Mandalorian cantina size building. As roof i used Prusament connect by imakina. This was my first own terrain design (early 2021). I used some greebles from SevenUnited, which were perfect to add details. I also used door and window design from jdteixeira as inspiration, but those had to be rebuild to print well and supportless.
