Spool Bot is an affordable, wheeled robot designed for navigating intricate indoor environments. Costing approximately $250 including a depth camera (excluding the laptop), it utilizes 3D printer spools, caster wheels from an old office chair, and custom-made components. Driven by two servos and controlled via an Arduino microcontroller, this robot relies solely on power from its accompanying laptop, eliminating the need for external batteries. Designed as a low-cost option to experiment with sensor and computing platforms for future bipedal robots, Spool Bot's assembly instructions, parts list, and additional information can be found online.
