Spool Bone
thingiverse
This is a simple spool holder I built. It's more compact, lightweight, and quicker to print than most others. Print four of these, install a 608 bearing on each shaft, and push them together. They should fit snugly due to friction. If not, you can apply a small amount of glue to the rod ends. Do this twice, and you'll have two assemblies that hold your spool in place. Give it a +1 if you decide to use 3D printed bearings. I'm quite fond of these spools, even though they utilize BBs. A project I undertook was learning Fusion 360. I created this basic spool holder because I required something simple to design a filament box.
