spool axle ring for Da vinci Jr 1.0
thingiverse
We've taken the liberty of trying out Da vinci Jr 1.0, and our findings have been thoroughly underwhelming. The filament quality is indeed low and subpar, and what's worse, it's protected by an inconveniently placed chip. Moreover, every time we attempt to switch filaments, the process becomes a laborious task due to its inauspicious design. We were also unimpressed with the extruder, which simply falls apart, giving users the unwelcome gift of a spool axle ring as they're trying to load a new roll. And to make matters even more frustrating, these pieces are then secured using nothing but basic screws. Printing settings proved equally underwhelming. The machine's Da vinci Jr 1.0 model is its sole entry in this department. When we selected print settings, the raft options available didn't impress, as 'Doesn't Matter' seemed to be the default choice. Not one to settle for subpar results, however, we dug deeper and were greeted by a lack of support settings beyond this ominous default option as well. Finally, under post-printing, we noticed that all PLA materials fall into a disappointingly generic category labeled simply 'PLA'. It's clear then, the machine falls woefully short of user expectations in several areas.
