The FRC team 2363 has developed a new wheel prototype for a 1/2" hex shaft. This wheel features a 1 1/2" wide tread with an outer diameter of approximately 4" once the tread is attached. The spokes on this innovative wheel are .096" thick and wide, replacing the previous version's .063" spokes that were too fragile to survive support structure removal. Removing external support reduces the weight from 87gm to 66gm, while removing all support brings it down to 54gm. The wheel is printed face down on the bed in ReplicatorG using "full support" for proper rim and spokes maintenance. This particular wheel utilizes the same hub and rim as the "Mag" wheel from which it was derived.
