Partially cleaned point cloud of half of Spofforth Castle's outer walling, created from 48 photos shot around the castle's eastern and northern ends. Spofforth Castle stands at the west end of Spofforth village in North Yorkshire, England. Visible remains include ruins of a 13th-century manor house and 11th-century structures built after 1067 by William de Percy. The two-storey west range dates back to the early 13th century and houses the great hall, modified in the 14th and 15th centuries. The Percys called Spofforth Castle home until the 14th century when they moved north to Alnwick. During the Wars of the Roses, the Earl of Warwick's forces damaged the house, but it was restored in 1559. Records indicate that the castle remained inhabited until 1604 and suffered another attack during the Civil War. Cannonball impacts are still visible on the western side, a testament to the castle's turbulent past.
