Split Worm Gear
pinshape
To achieve a superior print quality of the Davinci 1.0, I deliberately split the worm gear into two distinct halves, subsequently printing each segment flat on the bed with remarkable results. This approach yielded exceptionally well-defined gear teeth that exceeded my expectations. Following this process, I employed acetone to securely bond the two halves together. For further insight into the intricacies of this project, I invite you to watch my accompanying YouTube video at http://youtu.be/OPsExJTtYv4. Additionally, I successfully integrated a custom-created shaft that serves as an insert within the ring gear, bringing the entire assembly to life with precision and functionality. Utilizing Tinkercad's capabilities, I skillfully divided the design into two separate entities and then printed each segment individually. Upon completion, I expertly bonded the two halves together using acetone, thus successfully fabricating a seamless worm gear that showcases exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
