This attachment is engineered specifically for the MakerGear M2 printer. Its primary function is to snugly fit around the heated bed's electrical connector, thereby ensuring it stays securely in place. By preventing separation and kinking behind the connection point, this device enhances the overall stability of the heater cable. It is worth noting that newer M2 models, including mine manufactured in January 2013, utilize automotive-grade cabling that can withstand heavy flexing without breaking. In contrast, earlier versions may suffer from brittle wiring prone to fracture after repeated bends. To address this issue, m2_splint_v5.stl was redesigned to perfectly follow the natural curvature of the cable. As a result, its fingers have been extended and slightly angled to firmly grasp the wire. Furthermore, an extra notch has been incorporated to accommodate the thermocouple wire with ease.
