This face shield is currently awaiting final approval on the NIH website. https://3dprint.nih.gov/discover/3dpx-013809 This design is a revised version of the widely used 3DVerkstan NIH-approved face shield, available at https://3dprint.nih.gov/discover/3dpx-013306. It features several notable improvements over its predecessor: 1. No end hooks that get caught in long hair are present; instead, holes can be included when printed with a recommended 2mm wall thickness. 2. Spline-based contact surfaces provide a more comfortable fit. 3. The entire frame is flexible, allowing for a smaller footprint with two parts nested on an 8" bed and four parts nested on a 12" bed. 4. Two points of contact are situated on the forehead, providing a more stable fit than the original design's single point of contact. 5. A 0.65mm chamfer is included at the top of each print, resulting in one fewer line and a more comfortable surface. 6. No top or bottom layer is required, enabling a print speed of 9 minutes per part when using a 1mm nozzle and standard 40w hotend. 7. A parametric Fusion360 file is provided for easy modification; view and download the link at https://a360.co/2RzcD6L.
