Spline Jig - 45 Degree bracket

Spline Jig - 45 Degree bracket

thingiverse

I got fed up trying to locate a 45-degree bracket or Spline jig, so I decided to create one in SketchUp instead. The idea is simple: print two copies, attach them to your table saw cross-cut sled on either side of the blade, and then you can cut a slot for your miter joint splines. You can use this for whatever project you have in mind. As I post this, I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I'm confident enough to share it with you. Keep in mind that I didn't bother fixing the model because it's borked, so here's the fix. It should be 6 inches long, but unfortunately, it's only 6 millimeters. To scale it up correctly, change the 6mm to 152.4mm or simply multiply the entire design by 25.4 times its original size. Oops! I also recommend printing this on its side for optimal results.
