Splicer/Former for PLA filament

I struggled to find a filament splicer, so I created my own design. Remarkably, it functions well! This device joins filament ends by heating them and pushing them through a PTFE tube while still hot and pliable. The result is an effective bond with no flange. My subsequent iteration even shaped the flange into a desired 3mm circular profile.
