Splice Wire Coupler for low voltage and current outdoor lighting I had ordered SUNVIE Low Voltage Fastlock Landscape Lights Cable Connector 12-14 Gauge Wire for Malibu Paradise Moonrays and Other Outdoor Lighting Brands (8 Pack) from Amazon. I needed them for my solar outdoor lighting project. They worked very well. With a pack of 8, only allowed me to install 4 outdoor 12V lights (LED). I need more so I ordered more. Not paying attention to the delivery date of 2 weeks, I decided not to wait and designed my own. I called it the Splice Wire Coupler. The Splice Wire Coupler is for low voltage and current uses only. It is not waterproof. There are three 3d printer parts (Splice Top, Bottom & Screw), along with a 4-inch cable tie and a 5/8 X 18 wire nail for a total of 5 parts need for each wire. Assembly: 1. Place the nail through the Splice screw. You may need to use a hammer or a press to push it through. 2. Split the main wire cable between the two conductors. Allow a gap of about 1 inch. 3. Place one of the main wire conductors in the grooved end of the Splice bottom. 4. Screw in the Splice screw into the Splice end so that the nail will penetrate the wire outer coating. Note: you may need to puncture the wire with the nail to ensure a good connection. 5. With the wire you are splicing into the cable, strip about 1 inch of the outer coating. a. Place the stripped end of the wire through the top end of the Splice top. b. Place the cable tie close to the end of the wire coating and adjust it tight around the wire. Cut off the excess of the cable tie. c. Pull on the wire until it stops on the cable tie. d. Take the stripped end of the wire and loop it back inside the Splice top. e. Screw the Splice top on to the Splice screw. 6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 for the second conductor.
