Splendor Simple Cradle
thingiverse
Splendor is a very fun game! However, it comes in a large box. Some people like that, and that's great! I wanted something more compact, so I whipped up this little cradle print. The bottom takes about four hours on a typical extrusion printer, unless you're better at printing than me which is very possible. The top takes about seven hours and will require supports. (The lift takes nine minutes.) IMPORTANT: This cradle is designed to fit into a 300-count card box. They are made of cardboard and you can pick them up from your local game store for maybe $1. First, assemble the holder. Load the chips in the bottom holder, put the top holder on, stick the lift in the top and the nobles right after. Second, put the assembled cradle in the card box. Third, put the cards in the remaining space in the box. Yay! Note that because Splendor is a simple enough game, I didn't include a space for the rules. You could easily fold them up and tuck them in. You may want to sand the finished prints, as I haven't perfected the clearance fit for each component. My original print was too small, but I convinced it to work after a good deal of sanding. This print is especially good if you want your Splendor cards sleeved; they don't fit in the original box once sleeved. I used Dragon Shield non-glare clear matte sleeves, as I've found Dragon Shield lasts a while. The clear backs let you see the levels for each card, which is nice. Splendor has 40 level 1 cards, 30 level 2 cards, and 20 level 3 cards; if you go for clear-backed sleeves, you'll just need a 100-count box for the whole game (leaving 10 [or 12] for any accidents). If you go for colored backs, you'll need to get three sets.
