Splash and Windscreen
thingiverse
I discovered that when I put my boat in shallow water without getting wet feet, I had to push or throw it forward to keep the rudders out of the sand and prevent the nose from dipping below the surface. Sometimes, going fast through rough water would splash onto the boat's nose, causing water to leak into the front of the deck. However, with this splash guard in place, most of the water is deflected behind the front of the deck, preventing it from entering the boat. The sides are not closed to allow water to escape if there is any below the screen. I used the hull_bow_129.stl file for the original boat and modified it by adding a 1mm splash guard with a 128mm bow to fit snugly around it while maintaining the aerodynamic design of the original. This allowed me to keep things (a bit more) dry during sailing. It's very fun to sail this boat, and its excellent handling is thanks to wersy's original design, making it feel like a go-kart on water.
