Create Christmas-shaped cookies, known as "Spitzbuben" in Germany, using this recipe: mix 300g flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 100g sugar, and 1/4 oz vanilla sugar. Add 1 egg and cold, unsalted butter (150g) to form a soft dough; no refrigeration needed. Roll out half the dough on a floured surface, cut 25 large hearts, and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough, cutting small hearts from center of 25 cookies. Bake at 160C/320F for 8-9 minutes until lightly browned. Cool, dust with powdered sugar, add red currant jelly to whole cookies and top with cutout cookies; let set before storing in a tin can. Enjoy your Spitzbuben!
