Spitfire Propeller designed with Autocad 3D, a 1:4 scale model. The root hub fits into a spinner that is exactly 3.4cm in diameter, forming a perfect circle from root to tip at 375mm or 14.76 inches long. This propeller comes in five separate parts, which are carefully glued together using loctite 406 superglue specifically designed for plastics. To create one blade of this 1:4 scale model, approximately 1.75mm filament is needed, totaling between 15 meters to 25 meters (49ft to 82ft) in length. Print the propeller with PLA to avoid wrapping and produce a relatively sharp trailing edge of the blade. You can adjust the scale accordingly; for example, a 1:8 model would require dividing the full-scale dimensions by two. Recommended print settings have been tested, as shown in the picture: Vertical walls should be printed with two shells, using honeycomb or rectilinear infill at 5% density. The bottom and top solid layers should be set to three prints each. Print speed should be kept generally at 50mm/s throughout for a smooth and sharp print, especially at the trailing edge of the blade.
