Spiral Vase Meeple

Spiral Vase Meeple

I needed to print some meeple for various board games. So I was trying to mimic a classic design, while also making use of the spiral vase mode. At first I was experimenting with closing the top of the shape, but that did not turn out well. So I came up with this new design.

For printing you must use the spiral vase mode. Also I recommend to combine it with variable layer height: 0.25mm for the body, going down to 0.07mm for the very top of the shape. With this settings my meeple printed very well.

In my opinion the design works best with translucent filament. I also made experiments with multicolor filament - two or three opaque colors side by side - by printing my own filament. What I will do next is trying multicolor translucent filaments.

Unfortunately by using spiral vase mode in PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 it is not possible to print multiple meeple at once. So printing a complete set of meeple is not as much fun as it seems.

Print Settings

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.25...0.07 (variable layer height)

Filament: PETG

Happy Printing!

If you like this design, then please leave a like and also post a photo in the comments.
