Here is a very basic OpenSCAD script that uses a DXF base to generate a spiral staircase pattern. Set the stairHeight and stairSize variables to customize it. Variables: stairSize: The degree of rotation between steps. Larger values mean larger step surfaces. Values over 90 will cause the steps to separate, making a blade or auger shape. stairHeight: The thickness of each step (x axis). Instructions: 1. Download SpiralStairs.zip and extract the files. 2. Open stairs.scad and customize your variables as needed. 3. To edit the extruded shape, open semicircle.svg in Inkscape and make any necessary edits. Then, re-export it to the OpenSCAD DXF format as semicircle.scad.dxf. 4. The generated staircases may not appear manifold at first glance, but they will export as STL files and can be sliced with Cura just fine. However, I am unsure if you can print them without support.
With this file you will be able to print Spiral Staircase with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Spiral Staircase.
