Spiral Ribbed Vase
pinshape
Watertight Vase By that I mean this part will hold real water and not leak at all. I've printed several vase-like parts before, but they all leaked when I added water to them. This makes such parts far less useful than if they were truly waterproof. This part has double walls - excluding the spiral ribs which are merely decorative - and each wall is constructed with four loops. The bottom is also double walled, with each surface built up from four layers. The second photo showcases what a layer height of 0.300 mm looks like. I normally use 0.200 mm, but I wanted to experiment with increasing this as a way to reduce total print time. The final result isn't as good as 0.200 mm, but it's still acceptable in my opinion. I used Craftware to slice the part after running the original STL file through 3D Builder to correct errors. The total print time for this part was 11 hours and 11 minutes.
