Spiral Ribbed Vase
thingiverse
Watertight Vase This part will hold real water and not leak, as I intended. Unlike my previous attempts at printing vase-like parts, which all leaked when filled with water, this one is designed to be waterproof. That's crucial because it makes a big difference in how useful the part really is. The design of this part features double walls - excluding the spiral ribs, which are purely decorative - and each wall consists of four loops. Additionally, the bottom of the part has double-walled construction, with each surface comprising four layers. A second photo showcases what a layer height of 0.300 mm looks like. Normally, I print at 0.200 mm, but in this case, I wanted to experiment with increasing that value as a means of reducing overall print time. While the result isn't as good as my usual 0.200 mm setting, I still consider it acceptable. To prepare the part for printing, I first ran the original STL file through 3D Builder to correct any errors. Then, using Craftware, I sliced the part. The total print time for this project came in at 11 hours and 11 minutes.
