Spiral Plants Vase (Fast To Print)

Spiral Plants Vase (Fast To Print)

thingiverse

Hi everyone! This is my design for a vase, an experimental take on a vase printed using the spiralizing mode setting. If you enjoy my designs and want updates, be sure to follow me on Instagram: engineli_3d. The negative aspect of the spiralizing mode is that it can't produce objects with thickness, only single wall surfaces without top layers, so this model is designed for normal mode printing, one layer at a time. As you can see in the second image, I designed this vase to have a spiral cut on its side, allowing both internal and external diameters to be printed in a single wall. Additionally, I added a small spiral concavity inside the inner diameter, ensuring every layer change occurs at that point (set "sharpest corner" under "z seam alignment" in Cura). This approach results in incredibly fast prints: using 1 wall, 0.3 layers, and 1.30 hours, despite its large dimensions. The outer surface is remarkably smooth. To achieve this, be sure to set the bottom thickness to 2mm with 0% infill. I also created a base that operates on the same principle. If you like the design but prefer not to experiment with these settings, feel free to print my "normal" models, which I'll be uploading separately.
