The Spiny Snail was scanned by Artur Pacyga at Dr. Franek Hasiuk's GeoFabLab, which is part of the Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences at Iowa State University. The scanning process used a MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner on the "Medium" setting to capture the original specimen.
