Designed for the University of Maryland's Leatherbacks Combat Robotics Club along with other team members over the course of two competition seasons.Spinny Guy features a 3D-printed conical defensive shell that, through the use of dovetail joints, is assembled without fasteners. The weapon, pictured but not included in the model, is a horizontal bar cut from a polycarbonate sheet that is attached to the shaft at the top of the shell. By spinning rapidly, the weapon creates a 360-degree range of attack while simultaneously serving as a deterrent and barrier against attacks from opposing machines.
