Spinning Top with Articulated Arms
thingiverse
I was inspired by the recently featured articulated butterfly to design a spinning top with articulated arms that spins with ease. The butterfly can be found on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2810756. To make it easy to print, I broke down the design into two pieces (the main body and arms, and the handle). Printing the main body upside down minimizes support material. I also made a fascinating comparison of how much it would cost to 3D print versus CNC machine the top. This "what if" scenario highlights how amazing 3D printing is for home designers. Check out the video at https://youtu.be/GG7DlSw-DoM for more information. For those who want to stay up-to-date on my latest 3D printing projects, head over to my YouTube channel and subscribe at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeQR9E-MPwBqEpuaIJiE4CQ. To print the spinning top, you'll need two STL files: Main Body and Arms (print 1), and Handle (print 1).
With this file you will be able to print Spinning Top with Articulated Arms with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Spinning Top with Articulated Arms.
